Introduction
From smartphones to smart homes, technology has revolutionized the way we live; this undeniable hi-tech saturation has aroused much talk about its out impacts on our mundane life. In my view, any unchallenged belief is a bias in essence; we need to take a holistic approach when examining how our life has been reshaped by automation.

Body paragraph one
On the one hand, it is absurd to argue that there is no any justification for tech-driven remarkable progress. Medical research is a key realm. Our collective well-being is largely thanks to precise diagnosis and effective treatment, while accelerated breakthroughs in vaccines and surgeries are anticipated to boost our natural defense system, without muscling through uncharted territory in health issues. Another domain relates to global communication. For example, trans-boundary lifestyles have burgeoned largely due to remote work collaboration by enabling instant communication; similarly, breaking away from one’s narrow-mindedness is more possible as one is able to register online courses of overseas renowned college or to access a wealth of information from the Internet. The list goes on.
❖ absurd adj.

Body paragraph two
However, it is unwise to turn a blind eye to what neo-luddites are vocal about. Initially, their resistance is underpinned by magnified inequalities due to unfair distribution of automation. If left unchecked, more investment is expected to shift towards advanced economies with higher automation, increasing disparities in health, education, housing and employment. Even for those with an employment, they find it challenging to create a work-life balance due to the worrying inability to switch off from various virtual office tools in one’s off time. This leash is doomed to produce problems for those who fail to set up boundaries or to take regular breaks. Similar clouts could also be seen in obsession with virtual persona; being keen to win more following, some tech users are bound to fall prey to lowered self-esteem by a blurred boundary between what is real and what is curated.
❖ turn a blind eye to n.
❖ be vocal about 对……
❖ underpin v.
❖ unchecked adj.
❖ inability+ to do sth.
❖ leash n.
❖ set up boundaries 设定界限

Conclusion
To sum up, I believe that it is a pure gesture of cowardice to blame technology for deteriorating living quality, while indulging in tech-driven lifestyles; resilience, rather than technology, is the answer to our biggest challenges.
